A-CDM Services

The A-CDM services consist in a set of services that support the automation of the A-CDM process at a CDM Airport in order to enable information sharing. These services, essential to A-CDM, form the foundation for the Milestone approach, allowing to achieve common situational awareness and to improve traffic event predictability.

The A-CDM services support and implement aspects of Airport Operations Management (SESAR Operational Focus Area – OFA 05.01.01). A particularly significant benefit is the availability of information related to the transit of an aircraft in a CDM airport such that the corresponding A-CDM Partners can better achieve their operational goals by sharing a common situational awareness to significantly complement their individually planned operational flows.

The A-CDM services result from the joint collaboration between SESAR Service Activity named Fast Track 10 (FT10) and the Airport Council International (ACI) World Working Group called ACRIS (Airport Community Recommended Information Services) which deals with the definition of Web Service standards that can support several aspects of B2B-integration between airports and their partners (e.g. airlines, ATC).

Below you can find more details about two of these services.

List of services

Eight services have been identified which cover

  • Publication of information about inbound flights, outbound flights and flight alerts;
  • Setting of values for the A-CDM times TOBT, TSAT and TTOT;
  • Provision of calculated results for Pre-Departure Sequence times TSAT and TTOT.

The A-CDM services were identified using the SESAR Method on Services. The current status of these services is “in progress”. Further work is planned for Service Allocation, Service Design and Interface Definition.

InboundFlightPublication Service

Summary

This service is part of a series of services that helps automate the A-CDM process at a CDM Airport. It publishes the best available information on inbound flights to A-CDM partners in order to support Common Situational Awareness.

The Information Sharing enabled by these services is essential to A-CDM, and forms the foundation for all other elements of the A-CDM Milestone approach.

Intended use

The service covers the distribution of information related to inbound flights. A-CDM partners use this information for achieving common situational awareness.

This use of the InboundFlightPublication Service is complemented by other A-CDM publication services: OuboundFlightPublication Service and A-CDMAlertPublication Service.

Benefits

This service supports and implements aspects of Airport Operations Management (SESAR Operational Focus Area – OFA 05.01.01).

It allows achieving common situational awareness and improves traffic event predictability.

A particularly significant benefit is the distribution of information related to the transit of an aircraft in a CDM airport. As a consequence the corresponding A-CDM Partners can better achieve their operations by exploiting the improved common situational awareness to significantly complement their individually planned operational flows

Status

Service has been identified and ready to proceed towards the design phase.

PartnerTOBTSet Service

Summary

This service is part of a series of services that helps automate the A-CDM process at a CDM Airport. It allows an A-CDM Partner to set to set the Target Off-Block Time (TOBT) that indicates the target time for the aircraft to be ready for off-block.

The Information Sharing enabled by these services is essential to A-CDM, and forms the foundation for all other elements of the A-CDM Milestone approach.

Intended use

The service covers the setting by an A-CDM Partner of the value for the Target Off-Block Time (TOBT) when necessary. This may happen at many stages during the A-CDM process.

This service's use is complemented by other A-CDM partner setting services: PartnerTSATSet Service and PartnerTTOTSet Service.

Benefits

This service supports and implements aspects of OFA 05.01.01 on Airport Operations Management.

Information Sharing enabled by this service and the others in this set is essential to A-CDM, and forms the foundation for all other elements of the Milestone approach. It allows achieving common situational awareness and improves traffic event predictability.

A particularly significant benefit is the availability of information related to the transit of an aircraft in a CDM airport such that the corresponding A-CDM Partners can better achieve their operational goals by sharing a common situational awareness to significantly complement their individually planned operational flows.

Service description

This service allows an A-CDM Partner to set the Target Off-Block Time (TOBT) that indicates what is the target time for the aircraft to be ready for off-block.

Status

Service has been identified and ready to proceed towards the design phase.
