All-Causes Delay to Air Transport in Europe for May 2018

22 June 2018

The Central Office of Delay Analysis (CODA) gives policy makers and airspace users consistent and comprehensive information on Europe’s delay situation through the monthly All-Causes Delay to Air Transport in Europe report.

In May 2018, all-causes delay was at its highest level for the last five years, according to preliminary data. Airline reported air traffic flow management (ATFM) delays doubled, mainly because of air traffic control (ATC) industrial action in France and convective weather. Weekend industrial action in Marseille ACC caused disruption on 5-07; 12-14; 21-23 and 26-28 May.

The other major delay generator was weather, especially en-route.
