Representing Airport Collaborative Decision Making on the international stage
Frank Brenner, Director General of EUROCONTROL recently addressed a conference in Brazil on the topic of Collaborative Decision Making (CDM). The conference, which included representatives of airports, airlines and the manufacturing industry, was organised by Brazil's Department of Airspace Control (DECEA) - the Brazilian air navigation services provider.
In his speech Mr Brenner addressed the savings as identified in a EUROCONTROL study from 2016, that show the significant Return of Investments for the A-CDM partners.
The CEO of Munich airport, Dr Michel Kerkloh, gave an insight into the savings and benefits of Europe’s first A-CDM airport. The number of full A-CDM airports in Europe has increased to more than 20, one third of all departures in Europe start at an A-CDM airport.
Under an agreement between DECEA and EUROCONTROL this data is exchanged between the two organisations to calculate precise flight trajectories over the south Atlantic.
